Platja de Gavà, just south of Barcelona, feels like the city’s quieter coastal counterpoint—broad, pale sand framed by dunes and fragrant pine, with a gently “wild” Mediterranean character. A discreet promenade offers comfort without overpowering the landscape, making it an easy, restorative escape when you want sea air and space rather than spectacle. Reach it in around 40 minutes by the L95 bus from Plaça Catalunya or Plaça Espanya, or by taxi for a seamless day by the water.
A beautiful, endless sandy beach that stretches for miles in both directions. The sea has a pleasant temperature, perfect for cooling off, and the waves are just right…not too high, not too calm. We went in July. There’s a nice café on the beach where you can grab a refreshing drink. Clean beach. Very close to Barcelona Direct bus from Barcelona and T10 ticket works. Less crowded as compared to Barcelona beach. Designated beach zones specially for kite and wind surfing during autumn and winter season. Good restaurants at the beach. Train station around 1 km far. No public toilets. We encountered many jelly fishes during summer.
