České muzeum hudby sídlí v bývalém barokním kostele sv. Máří Magdalény na Malé Straně, kde se vrstvy architektury a někdejších světských funkcí proměnily v působivý, téměř divadelní prostor pro hudební paměť. Stálá expozice „Člověk – nástroj – hudba“ nabízí instrumenty jako precizní artefakty i jako most mezi tělem, řemeslem a zvukem — včetně klavíru z roku 1775, na který v Praze hrál Mozart. Monumentální sál a jemná práce se světlem a akustikou dávají návštěvě tichou intenzitu, která k pražské kulturní krajině patří stejně samozřejmě jako její koncertní tradice.
It was a nice museum with two exhibitions and some music facts to learn about musical instruments and equipment. The staff were friendly and helpful. On site lockers and cloakroom available to store jackets and coats. They allowed for a push chair to be kept near the lockers aswell. Recommend and good value also.
Had a lot of fun here with the history of music. So much to see with lots of interactive displays and instruments. You can listen to various instruments in different rooms. I loved to play the electric guitar, mini organ and harp! Inside it's not busy at all so you can enjoy the place and it has a relaxing experience. Some beautiful instruments, many of which I have never come across before.
It is such a beautiful museum containing a lot of musical instruments. Some of them are interactable, so you can try to play them yourself. There are also some interactable panels where you can learn interesting informations about the instruments. Children have free entry.
