Salmovský palác na Hradčanském náměstí nabízí neoklasicistní klid a promyšlený dialog s vedlejším Schwarzenberským palácem, propojený současným vstupem od architekta Josepa Lluíse Matea. Pod správou Národní galerie Praha zde ožívá především umění 19. století, doplněné komorními dočasnými projekty, které jemně připomínají pražskou tradici intelektuálního hledání i moderního estetického myšlení. Michael was so helpful and informative - from purchasing tickets to an overview of the curation. We loved the artworks and different explanations as to how the artefacts came to the exhibition. Kind and friendly staff and well curated exhibition on Asia!
This part of the Narional gallery was not open for some years but it is finally open. There is a new permanent exhibition about culture and art in Asia. If you are interested in such things, it is a good chance to visit. There are lots of exhibits from India, Japan, China, etc. There is a glimpse of the Islamic art as well. Best value for a national gallery anywhere and no crowds! Gallery was housed in two palaces and the works were displayed to allow close and intimate viewing. The coffee shop was also nice for a break. Recommended.
