Lovely collection of paintings! Not many famous masterpieces, but definitely worth a couple of hours to admire. I often get overwhelmed when visiting art museums, but here I could take my time and enjoy the thematically well-arranged collections.
Šternberský palác na Hradčanech je barokní klid v sousedství Pražského hradu, kde Národní galerie soustředí evropské umění od antiky po vrcholné baroko do noblesních, světlem zalitých sálů. Vedle Dürerovy slavné Růžencové slavnosti – obrazu, který do Prahy přivedl rudolfínský vkus pro velké sbírky – zde přirozeně navazuje dialog italských mistrů, nizozemské malby i jmen jako Goya či Rubens. Po prohlídce stojí za to zůstat ještě chvíli v kavárně NG Sternberg a nechat doznít atmosféru místa, které kultivuje pražský vztah k Evropě už po staletí.

If you have time in Prague and haven't been to other museums thst have the old masters, this one is worth visiting. Thr palaces in which the paintings are housed are beautiful too. The collection isn't large but can take a leisurely two hours.
More masterworks than Schwarzenburg Palace and incredible interior rooms and ceilings. Helpful and passionate staff as well. Great museum!
