يُعدّ Café Engländer، منذ تأسيسه عام 1891، من تلك المقاهي الفيينية التي تجمع بين المطبخ الراسخ والحياة الثقافية اليومية في مشهد واحد—من زوّار الصباح الباكر إلى روّاد ما بعد منتصف الليل. خلف واجهته المتواضعة تتجلّى أناقة تقليدية دقيقة: كراسي ثونِت، مقاعد بألوان حمراء وخضراء دافئة، ونُدُل بزيّ كلاسيكي يمنح المكان إيقاعه الخاص. ولتجربة تلامس الذائقة الفيينية المعاصرة من الداخل، يُنصح بتذوّق الـ Wiener Schnitzel هنا؛ طبق يتعامل معه المكان كجزء من هويته لا كمجرّد خيار على القائمة.

The food is excellent, but don't get fooled by the name. It's a restaurant, not really a café. Place gets jammed easily and can get really really loud sometimes. It feels like an elite place sometimes. Prices quite above average and in typical Austrian fashion you may have to wait a bit before a waiter notices your existence.
Location: close to everything yet protected from the hustle and bustle of everything, thanks to its being nestled in a tiny alley. The afternoon crowd is dominantly folks in business attire, with a few tables of casual diners mingled in. Pared-down decor. Soothingly simple in a town of over-the-top flourishes in late baroque/ rococo style. Attentive service. Yes, recommended.
