Rakouská národní knihovna je vídeňský chrám vědění, kde barokní Prunksaal proměňuje ticho v estetický zážitek – zlacené galerie, fresky a vůně papíru vytvářejí atmosféru staré Evropy v nejlepším slova smyslu. Vedle ikonického sálu stojí za pozornost i její muzeální svět: od papyrů a glóbů po literaturu a Dům rakouských dějin, který elegantně propojuje minulost s dnešní kulturní debatou.

The library is pretty cool if you’ve not been to a Baroque library before. It’s cool to see the old books in an elegant home. The building is gilded everywhere and has painted ceilings. There was some information about the library which was good. It’s better to buy tickets online and skip the queue at the ticket desk. They’re open ended tickets so no need to buy in advance.
