Die Hausbar im Künstlerhaus – diskret im Souterrain und doch mit einer selten schönen, überdachten Terrasse im Innenhof – verbindet urbane Gelassenheit mit kulinarischer Präzision. Im Mittelpunkt steht ein vegetarisches Sieben-Gänge-Menü, dessen Dramaturgie erst am Tisch über Bilder und Erzählung des Service lebendig wird; vegan ist auf Anfrage möglich, Fisch oder Fleisch lässt sich in einem Gang ergänzen. Dazu passt eine fein abgestimmte Cocktailbegleitung (gern alkoholfrei) und eine klug kuratierte Weinkarte – ein zeitgemäßer Abend zwischen Karlskirche und Musikverein, ohne Eile und mit Wiener Substanz.
Hausbar is an an outstanding fine dining experience located underneath the Albertina. Each of the eight courses were excellent, creative takes on classic dishes from around the world. The pairing of fun cocktails with each course elevated the experience and is certainly worth trying. If you are interested in a long dinner where you sample some exceptional food and drink, I highly recommend Hausbar.

I'm not into Vegetarian restaurants but this one is an exception. Although they give you a choice of fish or meat, everything else is vegetarian and delicious, if I may so so myself. Did I miss meat? Not in the slightest! Service was top notch all the way and I left fully satisfied that I made a great decision eating dinner in Hausbar.
