Otto Koloman Wagner's masterpiece, one of the finest buildings in the Art Nouveau style
Die Otto-Wagner-Kirche am Steinhof ist ein stiller Höhepunkt der Wiener Moderne: außen strahlend weiß, innen von einem überraschend klaren, lichtdurchfluteten Raumgefühl getragen. Wagner verbindet hier Architektur, Funktion und Ornament zu einer nahezu zeitlosen Ästhetik – ein Ort, der Wiens Kulturverständnis zwischen Fortschritt und feiner Zurückhaltung auf den Punkt bringt.

Off the beaten track. But so worth it. Best with sunlight. Lots of gold with beautiful reflections. It sits on top of a hill. The park around it is big and features old decommissioned hospital pavilions that are being repurposed.
This was one of my favorite buildings of my Vienna trip. Under the decorative surface lie something elegant and functional. I also like the intrinsic connection to caring for patients. From the pews, to the internal wall and the tap for holy water, the building was designed to work in the healthcare context - whilst looking absolutely glorious.
